Epimorphin/syntaxin 2 expression in Caco2–MIC 216 cocultures. Proteins from coculture extracts (25 μg per lane) were separated by reduced SDS-PAGE on 4–12% acrylamide gels, transferred to nitrocellulose, incubated with the polyclonal syntaxin 2 antibody, and then visualized with enhanced chemiluminescence reagent. (a) The 34-kDa band corresponds to the epimorphin/syntaxin 2 protein. (b) Epimorphin expression was quantified as in Methods, and the relative expression of epimorphin in each cell line is depicted.
