Markle Foundation, New York; The Sugar Research Foundation, New York; The National Dairy Council, operating on behalf of The American Dairy Association, Chicago; and The Home Missions Board of the Unitarian Society, Boston. In addition, support was provided under the terms of a contract, recommended by The Committee on Medical Research, between The Regents of the University of Minnesota and the Office of Scientific Research and Development. During the last phases of the work on semi-starvation, this contract was transferred to the Office of the Surgeon General, U. S. Army.
