Examples of reference formatting

In the Reference section, list references numbered in the order in which they appear in the text. Follow AMA style (AMA Manual of Style, 11th edition), and abbreviate names of journals according to the PubMed Journals list. The JCI strongly encourages authors to use EndNote in Microsoft Word to ensure that the format is correct.
