The JCI and public access

The JCI publishes all research articles immediately in Pubmed Central, making the JCI fully compliant with mandatory requirements from the National Institutes of Health for research supported by NIH funds:

The Journal is also compliant with policies of other major funding sources:

Authors of articles published in the JCI do not need to deposit their articles separately in Pubmed Central. The JCI deposits articles in Pubmed Central prior to the date of publication, and these articles become available to the public immediately when the date of publication has been reached.
