Parkinson disease (PD), a prevalent neurodegenerative motor disorder, is characterized by
the rather selective loss of dopaminergic neurons and the presence of α-synuclein-enriched
Lewy body inclusions in the substantia nigra of the midbrain. Although the etiology of PD
