Glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored high density lipoprotein-binding protein 1 (GPIHBP1)
is an endothelial cell protein that transports lipoprotein lipase (LPL) from the subendothelial
spaces to the capillary lumen. GPIHBP1 contains two main structural motifs, an amino-
terminal acidic domain enriched in aspartates and glutamates and a lymphocyte antigen 6
