It is not difficult to find recent, comprehensive reviews on the general subject of the idiopathic
inflammatory myopathies (IIM)(ie, dermatomyositis [DM] and polymyositis [PM]) as
expressed in children and adults [1–10]. Much of this information, however, is not of practical
