Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a complex systemic autoimmune disease. Infections
or infectious reactivation are potential triggers for initiation of autoimmunity and for SLE
flares. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is gamma herpes virus that has been associated with
