Bone morphogenetic protein-7 (BMP7) is expressed in adult kidney and reduces renal
fibrogenesis when given exogenously to rodents with experimental chronic nephropathies.
In mesangial cells that regulate glomerular fibrosis in vivo, BMP7 inhibits transforming
