Background Disorders of oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) cause an increase in the
NADH/NAD+ ratio, which impairs the glycolysis pathway. Treatment with pyruvate is
expected to decrease the ratio and thereby restore glycolysis. There are some case reports
