The autologous survival of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD)-deficient and
normal erythrocytes was measured following refrigerated storage in acid citrate dextrose
(ACD)-adenine and citrate phosphate dextrose (CPD-adenine for 5 weeks. The mean,
values for 24 hour survival and half-life (T12) were as follows: enzyme-deficient group, 67.2
per cent per 27.5 days with ACD-adenine (N= 10) and 58.1 per cent per 25.0 days with CPD-
