Northern blot analysis revealed the circadian expression of rat period homologue (rPer2)
mRNA in peripheral mononuclear leukocytes that have no neuronal connections. The
mRNA expression in the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), peripheral mononuclear
leukocytes, and other peripheral tissues exhibited prominent, synchronous circadian
