DISCUSSION RNase H is an important family of enzymes. Antisense drugs often work
through an RNase-dependent mechanism. Thus, insights into the characteristics of the
enzyme provide crucial direction for future work in medicinal chemistry and molecular
pharmacology. The cloning and expression of human RNase H enzymes should provide
additional support for improved anti-sense therapeutics.
