To the Editor: Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) is a rare, life-threatening, adverse drug
reaction characterized by widespread apoptosis and detachment of the epidermis. It is
associated with a high mortality rate of about 30%. Various drugs have been reported to
induce TEN (eg, antibiotics, anticonvulsants, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). The
