To the Editor: Roher et al 1 in their recent letter emphasized the link between atherosclerosis
and the brain's circulatory system in Alzheimer disease (AD). These authors also noted the
incomplete understanding of the molecular mechanism that links cerebral hypoperfusion to
AD. This is an important issue since, as suggested by the authors, the existing therapies for
cardiovascular disease may prove useful in cerebrovascular disorders.We have approached
