BACKGROUND & AIMS: Statins improve hepatic endothelial function and liver fibrosis in
experimental models of cirrhosis, thus they have been proposed as therapeutic options to
ameliorate portal hypertension syndrome. The transcription factor Kruppel-like factor 2
