Adenosine triphosphate (ATP), an essential metabolic energy source, is released following
cell apoptosis or necrosis. It acts as a damage-associated molecule pattern to stimulate
innate immune cells. The ectonucleotidase CD39 regulates immune activation by hydrolysis
