The cellular localization of prostaglandin E2 receptors (EP) and their corresponding
transcripts were investigated in human gastric and vascular tissues. A strong staining of the
EP3 receptor on the gastric glands, mucous cells, media of the mammary and pulmonary
arteries was observed by immunohistochemistry. We identified a new mRNA splice variant
of the EP3 gene in human gastric fundic mucosa, mammary artery and pulmonary vessels.
