Ghrelin is an orexigenic hormone that regulates homeostatic and reward-related feeding
behavior. Recent evidence indicates that acylation of ghrelin by the gut enzyme ghrelin O-
acyl transferase (GOAT) is necessary to render ghrelin maximally active within its target
