An imbalance between triacylglycerol synthesis and breakdown is necessaryfor the
development of obesity. The direct precursor for triacylglycerolbiosynthesis is α-glycerol
phosphate, which can have glycolytic andglyceroneogenic origins. We present a technique
for determining the relativeglyceroneogenic contribution to triacylglyceride glycerol by
