Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the preparation of biological samples for
stereomicroscopy by the quick-freeze, deep-etch, rotary-replication technique. The quick-
freeze, deep-etch, rotary-replication technique effectively bridges the gap between thin-
section and freeze–fracture views. It is not capable of enough resolution to reveal actual
molecular structure, but it is able to resolve individual protein–protein interactions such as
