Myb is a transcriptional activator protein with repeated helix-turn-helix DNA-binding motifs
distantly related to the homeodomain. In hematopoiesis, c-myb appears to control both cell
proliferation and differentiation. The mechanisms by which the leukemogenic potential of c-
Myb is activated are complex and involve truncations, point mutations, and fusion or
coexpression with other proteins.
