DISCUSSION This patient on hemodialysis presented with diffuse vascular calcification
associated with severe coronary and peripheral vascular disease and had a fatal outcome at
a relatively young age. This case raises several complex issues with respect to the
management of young dialysis patients with vascular calcification. These include coronary
artery disease, dialysis access, hypertension, and potential management strategies.
