The past decade has witnessed remarkable progress in the genetics of chronic pancreatitis.
Mutations of the PRSS1 gene encoding cationic trypsinogen and the SPINK1 gene
encoding pancreatic secretory trypsin inhibitor were found in association with hereditary,
