Copper and zinc metabolism became easier to study after science provided two basic
research tools: isotopic tracers and atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The recent
developments in cell and molecular biology have yielded an additional array of techniques
that have allowed the development of exciting new insights into the absorption, metabolism,
