Type II DNA topoisomerases are enzymes capable of passing one DNA duplex through
another. A combination of structural and biochemical analyses is illuminating the
mechanistic details of this transport reaction, revealing the sites of DNA and nucleotide
binding and the existence of large-scale domain motions.
