BACKGROUND/AIMS: Hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) play a key role in hepatic fibrogenesis.
However, their origin is still unknown. We tested the hypothesis that bone marrow (BM)
contributes to the population of HSCs. METHODS: Chimeric mice transplanted with donor
