Store-operated Ca2+ entry (SOCE) is the Ca2+ influx that is activated on depletion of
intracellular Ca2+ stores. Although SOCE is found in a variety of cell types, its activation
mechanism and molecular identity remain to be clarified. Current experimental results
suggest that SOCE channels are activated by direct coupling with Ca2+ release channels on
