Pharmacologic treatment and goal attainment rates from published literature indicate that
lipid management has generally improved for patients with coronary heart disease. The
population implications of these changes in lipid management are examined, suggesting
that the challenge of lipid management may be shifting from a problem of no treatment to
one of undertreatment.
