The systemic administration of anti-nerve growth factor (NGF) antibodies can prevent local
sensory hypersensitivity and block nociceptive fibers from sprouting into denervated adult rat
skin. However, in the case of chronic constriction injury (CCI) in a rat, there is evidence that
