Tpit (Tbx19) is a transcription factor belonging to the T-box family, and it is essential for late
differentiation of pituitary pro-opiomelanocortin (POMC)-expressing corticotroph and
melanotroph cells. Tpit is also required, both in humans and mice, for cell-specific
