[HTML][HTML] Molecular pathogenesis of Bacillus anthracis infection

This review summarizes the current knowledge pertaining to the pathogenesis of infection
with Bacillus anthracis relative to the two exotoxins and the capsule. Emphasis is given to
the structure and activities of the individual components of the exotoxins, their interaction
with cells, and the response of macrophages to lethal toxin. Finally, results from vaccination
studies are reviewed.
