Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) is a neuropeptide produced by the central and
peripheral nervous systems and by endocrine cells. CGRP exerts diverse biological effects
on the cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, respiratory, central nervous and immune systems.
