Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the CD1 structure and function in humans and
other mammals, and the manner in which the CD1 family may contribute to the overall
maintenance of specific immunity. CD1 has been studied at the serologic, protein, and
molecular levels in humans and in several other species including rodents, rabbit, and
