enzyme of purine catabolism that catalyzes the hydrolytic deamination of adenosine and
deoxyadenosine to inosine and deoxyinosine. The catalytic moiety of ADA exists as a single
polypeptide chain, with approximately 83.1% amino-acid sequence identity between
