Rapid methods of estimating Kt/V: three formulas compared

Three rapid formulas for Kt/V were compared: 1) Kt/V-PRU= 0.04* PRU-1.2; 2) Kt/V-PRUopt=
0.026* PRU-0.46; and 3) KTV-LN= ln (R-0.03-UF/W). Accuracy was compared in a database
of 339 3/week modeling sessions in 256 patients. The standard of comparison was Kt/V
obtained by 3 point variable volume single pool modeling, using K values estimated from
KoA, Qb, Qd, and UF rate.
