The retina consists of highly differentiated tissue which is essentially incapable of
regeneration. As a result, the retina is permanently affected by inflammation and the ensuing
process of scar formation. In a great number of conditions of retinal inflammation, the
pathogenic process is not confined to the retinal tissues and affects adjacent tissues such as
