A patient with severe combined immunodeficiency due to adenosine deaminase deficiency
was also found to be deficient in lymphocyte ecto-5′-nucleotidase activity. The ecto-5′-
nucleotidase deficiency was probably secondary to the presence of predominantly immature
lymphocytes. Three of eight lymphoblastoid cell lines derived from other patients with
