Chemokines constitute a constantly growing family of small inflammatory cytokines. They
have been implied in many different diseases of the CNS including trauma, stroke and
inflammation, eg, multiple sclerosis. In this review we focus on the role of chemokines in
infectious meningitis of bacterial or viral origin. In experimental bacterial meningitis induced
