The cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 enzyme is responsible for increased prostaglandin formation
in inflammatory states and is the major target of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Normally COX-2 expression is tightly regulated, however, constitutive overexpression plays
