The D series of prostaglandins was first identified in the late 1960's (1, 2, 3). An early report
suggested that PCDZ was pharmacologically inactive(4), the substance apparently having
no effects in isolated visceral and vascular smooth muscle or on rat blood pressure.
However, PGD, was later found to be a potent inhibitor of platelet aggregation(5f and since
