The origin of the cells present in the arterial intimal thickening in a human cardiac allograft
surviving for two years was determined by fluorescent antiserums directed against the donor
and host HL-A antigens. The majority of the cells in the thickened intima were of donor tissue
type, but in one vessel an appreciable number of cells from the host were identified in the
thickened arterial intima.
