Dietary polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) induce hepatic peroxisomal and microsomal fatty
acid oxidation and suppress lipogenic gene expression. The peroxisome proliferator-
activated receptor α (PPARα) has been implicated as a mediator of fatty acid effects on gene
