A sensitive micro-method specific for deoxyribonucleic acid was applied to brain. Samples
were treated with trichloroacetic acid and lipids were removed by extracting with alcoholic
potassium acetate, then with alcohol. The final precipitate was heated with 3: 5-
diaminobenzoic acid at 60 C. for 30 min. and the fluorescence was measured after addition
of perchloric acid.-A. Hepburn.
