Prostanoids play pivotal roles in inflammation and pain. Cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitors,
the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), depress prostanoid formation and are
widely used to treat inflammatory pain. However, their therapeutic benefit is offset by serious
