Phosphatidylcholine (PtdCho), the major phospholipid of animal membranes, is generated
by its remodeling and de novo synthesis. Overexpression of the remodeling enzyme,
LPCAT1 (acyl-CoA: lysophosphatidylcholine acyltransferase) in epithelia decreased de
novo PtdCho synthesis without significantly altering cellular PtdCho mass. Overexpression
