Activated protein C (aPC) is an important feedback regulator of the clotting cascade. In vivo,
the conversion of protein C (PC) from its zymogen to activated form is mediated primarily by
thrombin bound to thrombomodulin (TM), an endothelial cell surface protein. Molecular
