Peroxisomes play an indispensible role in ether lipid biosynthesis as evidenced by the
deficiency of ether phospholipids in fibroblasts and tissues from patients suffering from a
number of peroxisomal disorders. Alkyl-dihydroxyacetonephosphate synthase, a
