Vitamin A and its active metabolite retinoic acid (RA) modulate host-pathogen interactions
by interfering with the host immune and inflammatory response including prostaglandin (PG)
biosynthesis. The effects of RA on phospholipase A 2 (PLA 2) and cyclooxygenase (COX)
