OBJECTIVE: Although the lysine analogs tranexamic acid (TXA) and aminocaproic acid
(EACA) are used widely for antifibrinolytic therapy in cardiac surgery, relatively little research
has been performed on their safety profiles, especially in the setting of cardiac surgery. Two
